READER REVIEW OF DEATH SENTENCE! BOOK ONE
"Jeff went ahead and continued the story “A Beautiful Day for an Execution” in his story “Season Finale,” [the last story in Encore.] In “A Beautiful Day for an Execution” Jeff used some of today’s technology as well as what we may see in the future by way of time travel, and showed us an actual execution that took place in England in 1541. At the end the announcer invites viewers to tune in next week for the season finale – the crucifixion of Christ. Whoa! How would Jeff handle that one?
Thanks to the prodding of other readers wondering the same thing, Jeff went ahead and wrote the story. Thank you, Jeff. He does not make a mockery of this event. It is handled with all the respect due the execution of Jesus, a human being. Well-researched, and inclusive of even the most trivial of details – sounds, smells, weather, landscape, people - it made me feel as if Jeff had actually witnessed this event and was sharing the story.

Book Three - "Return To Salem" takes place in a live Network Special Broadcast on The Common in Salem Massachusetts, where the time crew recalls their difficulties while being lost in time during a live broadcast in Salem. The event is the biggest in Salem's history since the witch trials and is broadcast live around the world.
THIS IS THE STORY THEY TELL
A routine DEATH SENTENCE trip to Salem of 1692 and the broadcast of the witch trial of Giles Corey turns into a life threatening disaster for the crew of DEATH SENTENCE when their control room pod is torn from the much larger array to which they are connected.
To make matters worse, the crew cannot communicate with the Network and they don't know why.
They don't know where, or rather, "when" they are in time.
Their jump to Salem Village 1692 was intended to be for three days. Three weeks has passed and the world has not heard from them. Their food supply exhausted, they are forced to live off the land with possibly hostile native tribes nearby.
Then when they make the decision to chance return - severely under-powered and risk being lost forever - they do the unthinkable - they scuttle the control room pod leaving it behind somewhere in the past.
That forced decision holds serious consequences if The Network can't locate it and bring it back. Find out how the crew survived, who and what they encountered, how and why their pod array became lost in time and what the consequences were of leaving behind their proprietary technology unguarded and out of their time.
